Move your body,

Move your life.

When the body awakens,

When you can move your body,

You see how this can unfold

into moving your life to a new level.

Dance movement therapy is powerful as an investigation, because the body never lies.

We can move and surface material deep in the body, deep in the psyche.

In the place deeper than language.

At the landing beyond words.

The body can speak more eloquently than the mind,

to express the unknown,

how you are feeling,

what is moving to get attention,

how the mind/body/spirit intersect.

Yes we use a little talk, journaling, some drawing to symbolically capture what moved.

But in dance movement therapy, the dance IS the therapy.

I offer individual and group sessions and yes I also offer working online these days.

We attune, move together and I will suggest ways to explore your authentic movement response to issues you want to explore.

Not for the faint hearted but the brave. Who know the body never lies and if we can quiet the mind and listen, we can see what is wanting space, attention and healing. And those who enjoy moving and hearing the body speak with clarity, can reclaim deep parts of themselves.

“Movement has the capacity to take us to the home of the soul, the world within for which we have no names.

Movement reaches our deepest nature, and dance creatively expresses it.

Through dance, we can gain new insights into the mystery of our inner lives.

When brought forth from inside and forged by the desire to create personal change, dance has the profound power to heal the body, psyche and soul.”

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it  will never exist through any other medium and it will be lost. The world will not have it. It is not your business to determine how good it is nor how valuable nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it  yours clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.”

Martha Graham, quoted by Agnes De Mille, Martha: The Life and Work of Martha Graham.

Isadora Duncan

‘If I could say it I wouldn’t have to dance it.’
